On May 19th 2013 I turned 49. I was clear as I stepped into my 50th year that I wanted to commit myself to a project with the potential of creating a Dramatic Shift in my life. My commitment was to write everyday and allow the writing to move me. This meant that I would sit down to a blank page each day and just allow the words to come. A month into the project I began, DEFINING ME. I decided that in order to truly know myself, I would need to understand myself one word at a time. Each week I would focus on a word that Defined Me and write about what I felt, discovered, and understood. The first week I choose the word DEEP which was for me a shift because while I am very deep, I would never have in the past used that word to define me. Owning DEEP began a shift inside me that has occurred week after week as I embark on a new word. I have found that, if I allow it, life gives me ample experiences to better understand the word I am focusing on.
The idea was also based on the therapeutic model which works best when the client sees the therapist once a week. I thought perhaps this could be my therapy saving me both time and money! Every Tuesday at 9:00 I change to a new word. This became a weekly appointment with myself that I look forward to.
I also knew that if I truly committed to a word each week then "all sorts of things would occur to help one that would never otherwise occurred". This is from Goethes Poem (*read below)and is the backbone to DEFINING ME.
I invite you to join me on this journey for yourself as I am offering a FREE PILOT GROUP (Limit 6) to teleconference Tuesdays at 9:00 PM Eastern Time.
If you are interested you can email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. DEFINING ME--GROUP COACHING SESSION Tuesday's at 9:00 PM FREE (for a Limited Time--PILOT PROGRAM)
*Until one is committed There is hesitancy, the chance to draw back Always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of initiative (and Creation) There is one elementary truth The ignorance which kills countless ideas and splendid plans:
That the moment that one definitely commits ones self Then Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one That would never otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision Raising in one’s favor all manner Of unforeseen incidents and meetings And material substance Which no one could have dreamt Would have come your way.
Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
