My name is Allison Wonders and I am a Speaker Coach & Certified Life Coach educated at Coach Training Alliance where I learned the skillful art of asking questions that dig deep into the well of answers that are already inside of you.
For the first twenty years of my career I worked with children, it was in this field that I created a character called Ladida (Laa Dee Dah) . I traveled throughout the southeast performing live shows for children using puppetry and storytelling to educate and entertain. I wrote and produced my own television series, Ladida's Room, in North Georgia.
Then In 2003, I turned 40 and what I thought was a forever career working with kids began to fade into the background as I found myself wanting to do something different. I had always had a knack for helping people gain clarity and Life Coaching was new on the horizon and I thought it was perfect for me.
Years later, My friend turned me on to TED and TEDx and I was hooked. I was given an opportunity to coach some speakers for a TEDx event and I fell in love with the process of Speaker Coaching. It was my 'AHA' moment where all the pieces of my life came together and I finally knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. A Speaker Coach. It was the perfect combination of all my skills acting, writing, coaching, and storytelling.
I am also an activist. My SHero is Eve Ensler who wrote the Vagina Monologues. Her mission is to end violence against women & girls worldwide. In 2013, based on the statistic that 1 out 3 women will be beaten or raped in her lifetime, she started One Billion Rising a worldwide Campaign to end violence against women and girls. I was the Organizer for One Billion Rising Atlanta for several years.
On May 19, 2014, I turned 50! For my birthday I produced my own One Woman Comedy Show called Allison Wonders and her Cast of Characters to an audience of beloved friends and family. I realized I wanted more from my show and so I decided to take some stand up comedy classes, 3 of them-in a row and on the 3rd show during the last few minutes of my set I used a puppet (the blue guy right there) and when I got off stage I decided to become a ventriloquist.
Now I have created my own show, The Allison Wonders Show. Currently showing in backyards, but my dream is to take it on the road and bring delight, wonder and joy to all the people of all the land.
