Welcome!
My name is Allison Wonders and I am a Speaker Coach, Co-creative speech writer and Comic Ventriloquist. I have had a wild ride in my career. I found myself immersed in the magical realm of children's entertainment for the first two decades. I created a character called Ladida (Laa Dee Dah) with an enchanting blend of puppetry, storytelling and pure imagination and embarked on thrilling adventures across the southeast performing live shows that left kids wide-eyed and bursting with laughter. Then I took my talents to the small screen, producing a whimsical television series, "Ladida's Room" right in the heart of North Georgia. When I turned 40, what I thought was a forever career working with kids began to fade into the background as I found myself wanting to do something different. I had always had a knack for helping people gain clarity and purpose. Life Coaching was new on the horizon and I thought it was perfect for me so in 2008 I became a Certified Life Coach. Years later, My friend turned me on to TED and TEDx and I was hooked. I was given an opportunity to coach some speakers for a TEDx event and I fell in love with the process of Speaker Coaching. It was my 'AHA' moment where all the pieces of my life came together and I finally knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. A Speaker Coach. It was the perfect combination of all my skills acting, writing, coaching, and storytelling. I am also an activist. My SHero is Eve Ensler who wrote the Vagina Monologues. Her mission is to end violence against women & girls worldwide. In 2013, based on the statistic that 1 out 3 women will be beaten or raped in her lifetime, she started One Billion Rising a worldwide Campaign to end violence against women and girls. I was the Organizer for One Billion Rising Atlanta from 2013-2018. When I turned 50! For my birthday I produced my own One Woman Comedy Show called Allison Wonders and her Cast of Characters to an audience of beloved friends and family. I realized I wanted more from my show and so I decided to take some stand up comedy classes, 3 of them-in a row and on the 3rd show during the last few minutes of my set I used a puppet (the blue guy right there) and when I got off stage I decided to become a ventriloquist. Now I have created my own show, The Allison Wonders Show. Currently showing in backyards and small venues, but my dream is to take it on the road and bring delight, wonder and joy to all the people of all the land. In March 2023, I officially became a TEDx Speaker at TEDxStGeorge- stay tuned for my video! With Wonder, Allison :) |
